custom painting commissions

I love doing custom paintings of species that are special to you! To help make the process easier I’ve created style and format options to choose from. The samples shown are of a Bristle Cone Pine but similar styles can be applied to any flora, fungi or fauna species. At the bottom of the page you can find a gallery of past painting commissions that I’ve done.

STYLE

I offer two styles of illustration, Full and Single feature. Full feature includes a full study of the species and it’s biology / ecology, such as a branch, cones, seeds, needles. Single Feature includes a single study of the species, such as a branch.

Size

I offer 3 sizes for paintings on paper. All three are standard frame sizes. There is no price difference as they are comparable in size.

8” x 10” vertical on paper
10” x 8” horizantal on paper
8”x 8” square on paper

I offer 3 sizes for paintings on wood panels. Wood panels do not need to be framed and can be hung directly on the wall. I do not paint the background of the wood panel so the painting will be on natural wood grain. The painting will be sealed with a matte finish spray for longevity. I have a photo sample of a panel in the sample gallery

details

You will recieve an original painting in acrylic ink on bright white paper. Paintings are titled, signed and dated on the back of the painting. I’ve included a shipping fee of $30 in the price. All original paintings must be shipped fully insured, tracked and with signature required. If you are local to Kelowna and would like to pick up your painting I will deduct the shipping fee.

Process

Once style and size have been confirmed I will complete a drawing rough to be approved. One revision to the drawing is included in the price. If you would like additional revisions there is a $75.00 revision fee. Once the drawing has been approved no revisions can be made.

payment

$100 deposit is required to begin the drawing rough for the commission. This deposit is non-refundable and will go towards the total cost of the commission. Full payment must be made upon approval of the final drawing rough. An invoice will be provided, both the deposit and final payment must be made via e-transfer.
